Thomas Beal is deputy editorial page editor of The Asian Wall Street Journal. He has also served as a Hong Kong-based staff reporter for the Asian Journal and Beijing correspondent for United Press International. Mr. Beal, who speaks Mandarin Chinese, did his undergraduate study at the University of Nebraska and has masters degrees in American history from the University of Montana and in international relations from Cambridge University, England.
