Who We Are
Erich Eichman

Erich Eichman is books editor of The Wall Street Journal and editor of the weekly Taste page. In July 1992 Mr. Eichman joined the Journal in New York as an assistant editorial features editor. He became books editor in November 1994 and added the Taste page to his portfolio when the Weekend Journal debuted in 1998.

Mr. Eichman began his journalism career in 1977 at The American Spectator magazine in Bloomington, Ind. He moved to New York City in 1980 and worked for Harper's magazine as an associate editor before joining The New Criterion magazine as managing editor in 1982.

Born in Rochester, Minn., Mr. Eichman graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor's degree in music and a bachelor's degree in English. He lives in New York City.
