Susan Lee

Susan Lee is a member of The Wall Street Journal's editorial board. She began her journalism career at the Journal in 1982, leaving in the mid-1980s. Before rejoining the Journal in 2000, she was a columnist and senior editor at Forbes magazine and deputy editor of the New York Times op-ed page. She has also been a commentator for NPR's "Marketplace" and a frequent guest on "The MacNeil-Lehrer NewsHour," as well as a weekly commentator for NBC's "News at Sunrise."

Ms. Lee holds a doctorate in economic history from Columbia University, where she also taught for many years in the economics department as an adjunct professor. She also holds a master of arts from Union Theological Seminary. She is author of a college textbook and several trade books; her most recent book is "Hands Off: Why the Government Is a Menace to Economic Health." She has received many awards, including the Institute for Political Journalism's Economic Journalism Award in 2001.
